Meet Savannah!
Savannah is a teenaged girl who will turn 15 at the end of this year. She has brown hair and brown eyes and is approximately 5’4.
Despite her many traumas, Savannah has loads of personality. She is self-proclaimed “girly” and would love a mom who she can go shopping with, get her hair done with, go on mani-pedi trips, and will enjoy long eyelashes and makeup just like her. She would also love a dad that she can rough house with or play sports with.
Savannah describes herself as “very Godly”, but doesn’t go to church. She is also looking for a family that is also “Godly, but can handle cuss words sometimes, too”. She celebrates traditional Christian holidays, saying Christmas is her favorite because “it’s the day we celebrate God’s birthday, spending time with family, and getting presents!”
When asked about the kind of things she would like to do with an adoptive family she said “I like to go shopping and get new stuff”. She uses her birthday money or “I don’t know if they give allowances, I would use that. Or if my adoptive family want to spend money on me, I’m not going to tell them no!”
She enjoys listening to rap music and will often take walks around her neighborhood listening to music and processing her day. Her favorite artists are Rod Wave and Hot Boii, liking songs that “pump” her up. However, when she’s “in her feelings” she’ll listen to Priscilla Renea, specifically Time Machine.
She loves to sing, however she doesn’t like to do it in front of other people. She is a social butterfly and enjoys being around her friends and keeping in touch with people she knows on social media. She likes to talk on the phone and says her phone is important to her. While this technology is her favorite, she doesn’t play many video games. She loves to watch funny movies and laughing; “A lot of things make me laugh!” She would love to go on a cruise. The destination doesn’t matter as much as being on a boat. Savannah is a very organized and neat person. She even sets specific days to dust and clean her room. She would love to have her own room and says “If they (her adoptive family) would let me, I would really love to have a T.V. in my room. I like to sleep with the T.V. on.” She enjoys Starbucks coffees, Sonic ice-cream Takis, and any Red Bull (she absolutely draws the line at Monster Energy Drinks). Some of her other interests include horseback riding and swimming at the beach. Her Guardian Ad Litem has also stated that she has a keen eye for photography.
Savannah loves animals, however she has a fear of small yard lizards. When asked about them, she says “When I was little, I caught one and tried to give it a kiss. It bit me on my lip and wouldn’t let go!” Despite little lizards giving her the “ick”, she isn’t afraid of bearded dragons or snakes, but she especially loves dogs and cats.
Savannah has said that her plan for the future is to own a business that focuses on helping the homeless. She said that she would like to provide food and supplies to this population and have a nail salon, barber shop, and bathrooms for them to come in, clean up, and feel better about themselves. She said she’s inspired to do this because her biological mother was homeless and would sometimes have to sleep on the sidewalk outside, so this specific goal is near and dear to her heart.
Savannah is able to advocate for herself and is very expressive of her wants for a future adoptive family. She wants to connect with a mom and be able to share her likes and interests with a mother figure, just like every girl does. She would also like to have a younger sibling, maybe even a pet or two. She desperately wants a family that is “chill” and does not have high and unrealistic expectations for her. She is proud of her ability to speak her mind regardless of circumstances and the progress she has made thus far in life despite the hand she has been dealt.
