Ruby

Waiting for a Forever Family

Waiting for a Forever Family

Ruby is a 16-year-old who is 5’5” with brown hair and light blue eyes. Her favorite color is “light grey with a tint of blue” and her favorite movie type is psychological thrillers. She’s a foodie who “enjoys all types of foods.” According to her caregivers, she is also quite the chef. She regularly talks to her older brother, who took care of her in her younger years.

Ruby is extremely well-spoken and intelligent. Her creativity is inspiring, as she continues to blossom and express herself in more ways than one. She takes part in makeup, film writing, writing poetry, painting, and acting in local theatres. Ruby has been in four plays, and she recently earned a lead part in a play called “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime,” a role she is very enthused by because of the “depth in character.” Ruby has also written hundreds of poems from the age of 7, which she plans on turning into a calendar.

Ruby’s caregiver states that she is a “bright and creative child with an incredible imagination.” She is described as a young woman who is compassionate, helpful, and giving. Ruby loves people, and is developing her sense of style, tastes, likes, and dislikes. This has in turn helped her feel a sense of belonging as part of the community.

Ruby has many aspirations and goals in her life. Her career goals include writing for films/books, being an actor for film/theatre, modeling, and working in IT. In the future, Ruby could see herself attending a university and majoring in film production or programming, as well as living in an apartment near her current caregivers.

It is important to Ruby to stay in the Florida Panhandle, so she is only willing to consider families who live in or near the Tallahassee area.
